Beer garden and "Jagdstube"
Dear visitors of the beer garden and the Jagdstube, unfortunately we have to introduce a rest day until the end of March 2019 on Thursday due to long-term sick leave of two full-time employees.
There are 120 comfortable seats and some play equipment for children on a spacious area of a lawn interspersed with flowers of about 2,000 sqm. At times, a complete wild boar is grilled over a charcoal grill.
The rustic Jagdstube ("hunter's room) is open all year round and offers a cosy place for 50 more guests to sit.
Our cuisine consistently earns high marks from our guests. Owner Hans Kupper, chef and graduate of the Heidelberg Hotel School, pays great attention to an excellent quality. That means we only prepare game which has been shot on our local hunting grounds in Eppenbrunn. The home cured and home smoked venison and wild boar ham are very popular with our guests. But you will also find lamb, fish and poultry dishes on our menu. Of course, we also have people with gluten and dairy allergies and vegetarians who love to have us cook for them as a matter of trust.
What's completely new in our beer garden is an oven heated by wood and a charcoal grill to regularly bake our own bread and "tartes flambées" (the savory Alsatian tarts topped with bacon and onions) and to grill some steaks, fish, venison and lamb. But also vegetarians will definitely get their money's worth. The beer garden and the Jagdstube are open all year round (no days off) from mid-January to the end of December. Our opening times depend on the seasons and the weather - but we are flexible. We will open our beer garden and the Jagdstube for groups of more than 10 persons (advance booking only).
